day my big sister, Sarah came to me and said, ‘Grace, there’s
so many brothers and sisters who have difficulties in their relationship.
They miss out on the friendship God intended for them to have.
I think we should share with others what God has taught us. How
about if we write a book on “Making Brothers and Sisters
Best Friends”?
I thought, ‘What?
Write a book? Is this another one of my sister’s crazy ideas?’
But I did agree with her that is a big need in many families.
Sarah said, ‘I'll ask Stephen what he thinks of my idea…’”

“‘Oh
no! Sarah is getting me into another one of her BIG projects!’
was my reaction when Sarah
told me of her idea.  Even though I wasn’t thrilled about
undertaking such a project, I thought it would be the right thing
to do, so I agreed. As usually happens, it turned out to be an
even bigger project than I was expecting, but we have been very
excited to see the Lord fit this book together.
Making Brothers
and Sisters Best Friends is 272 pages long with lots of illustrations
drawn by my dad. Sarah, Grace, and I have each written a section
of every chapter. This gives the book three personalities as well
as the perspective of a first-born, middle-born, and last-born
child. We think this is a very important topic and we are praying
that the Lord will use this book to strengthen many families.”
